What the numbers mean

ResolutionWhat the camera actually delivers (we ask for up to 1080p). 1280×720 is fine for meetings; 1920×1080 looks sharp with good light.
FPS (measured)Real frames per second. 24–30 is smooth. In dim light many webcams drop to 10–15 to expose longer — add light in front of you.
LightingAverage brightness of the picture. “Too dark” means more light on your face; “Backlit” means the window or lamp is behind you.

Camera works here but not in your app?

The app is using a different camera, another app holds it, or it lacks permission: Zoom · Teams · Google Meet · exam software (Pearson VUE, ProctorU…).

No picture at all?

The box above names the cause with steps for your system. Full guides: Windows 11 · Mac · browser permissions.

Questions, answered

Is my video recorded or uploaded?

No. It is shown only on this page.

Why is the frame rate low?

Webcams slow down in low light. Add light in front of you, or close other apps using the camera.

The picture is mirrored — will others see me mirrored?

No. Mirroring is only for your own preview, like a mirror. Untick “Mirror” to see what others see.
